The Cambridge Higher Certificate of English Language Skills [CELSH]
The Cambridge CELSH is an upper-intermediate level qualification, equivalent to ALTE Level 4 [The Association of Language Testers in Europe]. This corresponds to level C1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The examination comprises four papers that are designed to assess the candidate's skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Independent certificates are awarded for passes in any of the four skills. The two pass-grades that are awarded are 'Pass with Merit' and 'Pass'.
The CELSH signifies ability to effectively deal with the English-Language, according to the skill for which a certificate has been awarded. The qualification is greatly beneficial to anyone engaged in middle- and higher-management jobs in commerce or industry.
The CELSH is valid for life, and it is the logical foundation for a C2-level course for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English examination.
