The Cambridge Preliminary Certificate of English Language Skills [CELSP]

The Cambridge CELSP is a threshold level qualification, equivalent to ALTE Level 2 [The Association of Language Testers in Europe]. This corresponds to level B1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The examination comprises four papers that are designed to assess the candidate's skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Independent certificates are awarded for passes in any of the four skills. The two pass-grades that are awarded are 'Pass with Merit' and 'Pass'.
The CELSP signifies ability to deal with everyday English, according to the skill for which a certificate has been awarded. The qualification is beneficial to anyone engaged in clerical, secretarial, or lower-management jobs in commerce or industry.
The CELSP is valid for life, and it is the logical foundation for a B2-level course for the CELS Vantage, Cambridge BEC Vantage, or First Certificate in English examinations.
