The Cambridge Vantage Certificate of English Language Skills [CELSV]
The Cambridge CELSV is an intermediate level qualification, equivalent to ALTE Level 3 [The Association of Language Testers in Europe]. This corresponds to level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The examination comprises four papers that are designed to assess the candidate's skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Independent certificates are awarded for passes in any of the four skills. The two pass-grades that are awarded are 'Pass with Merit' and 'Pass'.
The CELSV signifies ability to deal with the English-Language, according to the skill for which a certificate has been awarded. The qualification is beneficial to anyone engaged in clerical, secretarial, or lower-management jobs in commerce or industry.
The CELSV is valid for life, and it is the logical foundation for a C1-level course for the CELS Higher, Cambridge BEC Higher, or Advanced Certificate in English examinations.
