The ICFE is an advanced Cambridge ESOL qualification and valid for life. It corresponds to Level 4 of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
The ICFE examination assesses the use of Financial English for Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking, and it is recognised worldwide by academic institutions, professional practitioners, commercial and industrial enterprises, and government departments.
There are three courses to choose from and apart from the Script Correction course, each delivers exclusive live one to one distance teaching.
STANDARD COURSE
The ICFE Standard Course monthly module provides weekly homework assignments that relate to the ICFE examination syllabus. The first three are based on the prescribed coursebook while the fourth is an ad hoc project for any legitimate learning purpose concerning your individual Financial English skills, such as an authentic mock ICFE examination.
Each homework script is the basis of a live private tutorial that lasts for one hour in conformance to the Oxford tradition. SCRIPT CORRECTION COURSE
Apart from the audio teaching sessions and the Speaking tests, the Script Correction Course includes the features of the Professional Course and is ideal if reliable Internet access is difficult.
The ICFE Examination syllabus requires use of Financial English in the areas of Financial Reporting, Company Financial Strategy, Risk Assessment and Analysis, Banking, Insurance, Investment Banking, Ethics and Professionalism, Debt Recovery and Credit Policy, Accounting Software Packages, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Assets and Company Valuations, Budgetary Processes, Corporate Governance, Cost and Management Accounting, Bankruptcy, Acquisitions and Mergers, Environmental and Sustainability Issues.
The syllabus also requires an appropriate style of formal written Financial English, including the ad hoc grammatical structures of Financial English and archaic terms encountered throughout the profession.
